We're Heidi. We're building the future of healthcare by giving every clinician the earth's finest AI Care Partner. In just 18 months, our clinical AI products have absorbed the administrative chaos of 73 million patient visits. Today, we support over 2.5 million patient sessions a week across 190+ countries.Healthcare systems are failing us; clinicians spend more time on documentation than on patients, and the human connection that makes medicine worth practicing is eroding.
Our mission is simple: double the world's healthcare capacity and strengthen the human connection at its heart. We found product-market fit with a freemium medical scribe that clinicians love. Now, we're expanding. Every task a clinician hands to Heidi is a patient who feels more attended to, a health system unclogged, and a clinician who gets to be a clinician again. If you don't choose easy and you want to build something way bigger than yourself then, choose the challenge, choose Heidi. The roleHeidi's UK and Europe business is growing faster than the finance scaffolding underneath it.
Central finance across Sydney, Melbourne and Manila runs month-end close, core accounting and day-to-day operations, but the region needs someone on the ground who owns the accuracy of its numbers and sits close enough to the commercial team to shape decisions before they get made. Today, regional leaders wait on Australian hours for answers about their own P&L. You'll end that. The role has two halves and both carry equal weight.
You'll own regional financial control and compliance: the integrity of the balance sheet, the accuracy of management reporting and forecasts, cash, strong local controls, and statutory obligations across Companies House, HMRC and VAT, directed through external advisers. You'll also be a hands-on business partner to UK and Europe leadership, Sales and Customer Success, owning the P&L narrative, bringing a commercial view to pricing, deal terms and customer economics, and making sure teams see the financial consequence of the choices they make. You'll report to the Group Financial Controller with a dotted line to FP&A.What you'll doFinancial reporting and month-end closeOwn the integrity of the UK&Europe balance sheet, with reconciliations that stay current, reviewed and explainableOwn the accuracy of the UK&Europe monthly group reporting and management accounts with variance commentary that explains movementsBe the single point of contact for group finance on anything UK&Europe: queries, adjustments, restatements, consolidation-level questionsCompliance and risk oversightOwn the UK&Europe compliance calendar (Companies House, HMRC, VAT) by directing external accountants and advisersOwn the adviser relationships (accounting, tax, audit), keeping work well scoped, reviewed and connected back to Heidi's internal finance standardsBuild an early-warning process so compliance risk is caught and escalated well before it threatens trading statusBe the accountable owner if something in the compliance chain breaks downCommercial business partneringBe the day-to-day finance partner to UK&Europe leadership, owning the regional P&L narrative, budget vs actual and the "why" behind the numbersBring a commercial lens to pricing, deal terms and customer economics, flagging risk and opportunity earlyTranslate regional performance into clear, decision-ready input for FP&A and company leadershipGive UK&Europe business leaders a reliable, self-serve view of their numbers, so decisions stop waiting on Australian hoursFeed central finance the regional inputs it needs at close: accrual estimates, revenue and spend context, then review and sign off on the UK&Europe resultRevenue risk and collectionsPartner with Sales and Customer Success to resolve aged and disputed balances and unblock stuck revenueOwn the commercial view of collection risk: which accounts, why, and what it means for cash, and feed it into forecastingDrive down UK&Europe DSO by fixing the upstream causes (contracting, disputes, process), not by chasing invoicesFinOps, controls and performance frameworksBuild the operating rhythm that turns UK&Europe finance from reactive support into a reliable performance framework: clear KPIs, owners, review cadences and escalation pathsPartner with budget owners on spend decisions before they are made, rather than policing them after the factStrengthen financial controls across spend, approvals, vendor onboarding, card usage, subscriptions and commercial commitments, while keeping the process pragmatic for a fast-moving regionReview regional AP and card activity, including prompt removal of leaver access and cards, and escalate anomalies to central finance operationsPartner with external accountants, tax advisers, compliance providers and other vendors, making sure work is well-scoped, reviewed and connected back to Heidi’s internal finance standardsUse FinOps-style discipline to connect spend, usage and outcomes, especially across tooling, GTM systems, implementation costs and region-specific operating expensesCreate simple documentation and control checks so the region can scale without relying on informal knowledge or one-off fixesWhat you'll needStrong commercial and financial acumen - comfortable moving between P&L narrative, deal economics and cash impactExperience business partnering with Sales, Customer Success or regional leadership in a growth businessTrack record improving collections or DSO by fixing root causes, not just processExperience owning spend or expense controls in a way that supports the business rather than only governing itComfortable directing (not necessarily performing) statutory compliance and VAT work through external advisersHigh degree of autonomy and ownership in a small, remote-first global finance teamClear, confident communicator - able to hold your own with commercial leaders and external advisers alikeExperience in a multi-entity or multi-currency businessNice to haveExperience in a high-growth SaaS or technology companyQualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)Exposure to Companies House, HMRC and Irish Revenue processesExperience with Campfire, Airwallex or similar modern finance toolingHow we show upBuild for the next decade, not next quarter.
Our targets are outrageous on purpose. The world's health doesn't have the luxury of incrementalism.Lead, don't wait. We treat tomorrow's problems today.
Sometimes we build what's needed before it's wanted, and we're fine with that.Follow the evidence. Trust the patient. We pursue truth relentlessly.
But when the subjective and objective disagree, we treat the patient, not the numbers. Ego is a comorbidity we can't afford.Own the outcome. Everyone here carries the company.
Raise problems with solutions, solve them end-to-end, and never be a bystander.Ship, measure, go again. A button today, a workflow tomorrow. More iterations beat better planning.
We're precise at pace, not reckless.Live in clinicians' reality. Not the ideal workflow, the twenty-patients-before-lunch actual one. We build for exhausted humans, and we'd better be decent ones while we do it.Why Heidi? You'll join a team focused on real-world impact over imaginary valuations and glossy PR.
We live and breathe the challenges of modern health systems, and are laser-focused on exacting the change we'd like to see. We're medicos, engineers, builders, and designers who've felt the moral and practical toll of what non-care feels like. True A-players progress extremely fast here.
The nature of the scale-up game is demanding, but we value sustainable performance and mental health. You're trusted to perform, and you set your schedule. We operate on outcomes > inputs, not process theatre.
We all take the bins out, metaphorically and literally.Building what we're building isn't always easy. But we didn't choose easy, we chose to build something that actually matters. We hold ourselves to a higher standard because healthcare demands it.
If you join Heidi, you recognise that the deeper question isn't whether AI can solve the global healthcare crisis, but whose hands will shape it. The work is hard, but you will trust and admire the people you work beside, and rest easy knowing you're doing the defining work of your career. We take care of you.We offer comprehensive private medical and dental cover through Bupa, 24/7 mental health, coaching and wellbeing support through Sonder, a £100/month Healthy Heidi's wellness stipend, a £500 home office budget, a £700 annual learning and development budget, 26 weeks paid primary parental leave and 18 weeks paid secondary parental leave, fertility support up to £7,000, up to four weeks of work from anywhere per year, Recharge Days after major milestones and busy periods, 10 days per year of clinical leave for eligible clinical roles, and a hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office. We chose to open-source our
