In simple terms, we handle transactionalcommunication send-outs to our customers via email, SMS, and push notifications. Theseservices demand attention to detail, proactive maintenance, and swift response times to ensureseamless operations.Our recent high-priority initiatives include re-architecture/platform modernization, high availabilityand internationalization efforts; these are vital for our organization's growth and competitivenessin the market. These initiatives require dedicated expertise and resources to execute efficientlyand effectively.

Without adequate capacity, we risk delays, reduced quality, and missedopportunities to achieve key strategic objectives; but most important - our Customers deservealways on time and high quality comms!What You'll Do· You will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leadingengineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, and ensuring thateveryone is supported throughout delivery.· You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle bycollaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation,articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks andtrade-offs.· You will proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them,and lead in solving them.· You will foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving codereview and design standards for your team, and advocating for them beyond your team throughyour writing and tech talks.· You will help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading byexample.· On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement.What We Look For· You have 5+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python.· You have a track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologieslike AWS, MySQL/Dynamo and Kubernetes.· You have experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or systemcomponent with an elegant, simple and extensible design. You write high quality code that iseasily understood and used by others.· You are proficient at making significant changes in a large code base, and have developed asuite of tools and practices that enable you and your team to do so safely.· Your experience demonstrates that you take ownership of your growth, proactively seekingfeedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders.· You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaborationwith our global engineering team.· This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relatedfield.We are looking for someone who is experienced in building lasting relationships and is passionate about making meaningful contributions to our team.
